SUMO2 gene silencing promotes proliferation, and inhibits the apoptosis and senescence of NPCs in rats with IDD through the down-regulation of the p53 signaling pathway. Thus, SUMO2 is a potential target in the treatment of Intervertebral disc degeneration (IDD). The small ubiquitinrelated modifier protein (SUMO) functions as a posttranslational modification system and SUMO2/3 subtypes are often activated in early stress. SUMO2 as a novel activator of Cn-NFAT signaling in cardiomyocytes.
